What is Cooper Foundation grant?

The Cooper Foundation has been investing its capital since 1934 for the support of people through human services, education, the arts, the environment and the humanities. Their objective is to support operations and programs of well managed, strong and effective non-profit organizations that are located in and working at Lancaster County and Lincoln, Nebraska.

Geographic Area

Top priority is given to organization that are based and serving Lancaster and Lincoln County. Requests from outside of this area must serve a statewide or regional area and will meet the Foundation’s highest priorities in funding.

Funds are not given to: individuals; businesses; churches; health organizations or issues; religious organizations or issues; memberships; travel; endowments; non-501(c)(3) organizations; fiscal agents; 509(a)(3) supporting organizations; private foundations.

How to apply for Cooper Foundation grant?


  • Email an electronic copy of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Grantmakers Application Form and the required supporting information by the dates listed below and submit one unbound, signed original.
  • We accept multiple file formats, including Word, Excel, and PDF files. If you are unable to provide any required documents and attachments electronically please contact us.
  • If the application deadline falls on a weekend, the deadline is the next business day.
  • All materials that are submitted in the application process will become the property of the Cooper Foundation.
