What is ConAgra Foods Foundation Grants?

The ConAgra Foods Foundation is leading the task to raise awareness of almost 17 million American children at risk of hunger and to do something about this. The Foundation is pursuing sustainable solutions to put an end to child hunger and by teaching children about nutrition they will have the nourishment they require today in order to flourish tomorrow.

Through the community involvement platform “Nourish Today, Flourish Tomorrow”, the Foundation commits itself in building a people’s community that is passionate about eliminating child hunger and educating children and their families about nutrition. The foundation works to ensure that the children will have access to food and facts they need to be able to eat nutritiously, to be able to live balanced lifestyles and to be able to succeed in life and in school. They accomplish their goals by investing in local and national partnerships with non-profit, high-impact organizations like Share Our Strength and Feeding America. These organizations take the innovative approaches in addressing the needs in core areas of hunger and nutrition education.

Who are eligible for ConAgra Foods Foundation Grants?

Grantee Eligibility

  • All grant recipients must be nonprofit, charitable organizations tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Religious organizations such as mosques, churches and synagogues may qualify only if their outreach programs are offered to the general population regardless of religious affiliation AND they have established a separate 501(c)(3) organization to operate the funded program(s).
  • ConAgra Foods Foundation does not fund:
    • Organizations that lack a 501(c)(3) designation
    • Social, labor, fraternal or alumni organizations (e.g., higher education alumni groups, fraternities, sororities, workers’ unions, exclusive membership clubs limited to a specific constituency, etc.)
    • Professional or amateur sports teams and organizations, or athletic programs and events
    • Political organizations
    • Terrorist organizations or those non compliant with USA Patriot Act
    • Fundraising events (e.g. galas, golf tournaments, raffles, ceremonies for annual awards, telethons, auctions or walk-a-thons)
    • Emergency funding
    • Loans, operating deficits or debt reduction
    • Individuals
    • Endowments
    • Capital campaigns (unless it is solicited at the discretion of the funder)
    • Memorial campaigns
    • Elementary and secondary education

Corporate sponsorship of fundraising events will be awarded according to the company’s discretion.

How to apply for ConAgra Foods Foundation Grants?

The ConAgra Foods Foundation will initiate grants for local and national partnerships and coordinates an employee nominated grant process called Nourish our Communities. On a yearly basis, the ConAgra Foods Foundation will invite qualified charitable organizations to apply for the Community Impact Grants program.

The potential grantees must carefully review the program overview, criteria and funding guidelines in order to determine if their program or project is in line the Foundation’s funding priorities for charitable investments. The Foundation’s program for grants is competitive. The organization that best aligns with the objectives and goals of the foundation’s main focus areas has the best chances to be given a grant.

The Foundation will not accept proposals that are unsolicited and will consider requests submitted thru the courtesy of the Community Impact Grants program during the yearly designated time.
