What is Albertsons Community Investment Grant?

“Being a good corporate citizen is an ongoing responsibility” that is the core of Albertson’s charitable giving. Albertson’s aims to help in the creation of stronger communities by enhancing the quality of living for its customers and associates. They serve communities all over the Western United States by providing their customers beyond the walls of their stores.

Who are eligible for Albertsons Community Investment Grant?

Albertsons evaluates all requests basing them on the following criteria:

  • A clear description of the program
  • Quality delivery of a needed service
  • Results which are predictable and can be evaluated
  • Fiscal and management capability to carry out the program
  • Broad-based community support
  • Competent, qualified staff and board
  • Beneficial to a substantial segment of the community, with particular focus on at-risk or disadvantaged populations
  • Associate volunteer opportunities

Albertsons does not support:

  • Individuals
  • Travel or research expenses
  • Fees for participation in competitive programs
  • Organizations which receive more than 30% of their funding from the United Way
  • Lobbying, political or religious programs
  • Organizations that are not tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code

How to apply for Albertsons Community Investment Grant?

Applicants and their programs must meet one of the 3 focus areas of Albertson’s. The applicant must review the directions indicated below in submitting their requests.

  1. Select the appropriate address for your application, based on your organization’s geographical location.
  2. If the located in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washington or Wyoming, please send your application to: Albertsons Communications and Public Affairs Department, 250 Park Center Drive, Boise, ID 83726 as per the donation request form.

    If located in California or Nevada, please send your application to: Albertsons Community Relations Department, 1421 S. Manhattan Avenue, Fullerton, CA 92831.

    If you are located in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico or Texas, your store is operated by Albertson’s LLC. Please make your charitable request on their corporate site by clicking here

  3. Download and complete the Albertsons Grant Application form.
  4. Download and complete a W-9 form.
  5. Send the completed grant application, the completed W-9, and if you are a nonprofit organization, a copy of your 501(c)(3) letter to the correct address above. All grant requests must include the above information or the request will not be able to be reviewed.

Requests may take up to 6 weeks to review. If the grant request involves an event, the request should be sent at least 8 weeks prior to event date.
