Drug & Alcohol Abuse Prevention Essay Contest Scholarship

The Drug and Alcohol Prevention Essay Contest is competitive grant is administered and sponsored by the ALERT MAGAZINE, LLC and is open only to the following states: Idaho, Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington and Wyoming. Eligible applicants are senior high school students having GPA of 2.5 or better and planning to pursue college degree. This competitive grant is about essay writing. The topic for the essay is about a personal experience that you or someone you know had with a person that is abusing drug or alcohol. The essay must have 600 to 1000 words. The essay must be submitted by mail together with the transcripts of the applicant, photo, name, contact details, address and name of school.

Shaver-Hitchings Scholarship

The Shaver – Hitchings Scholarship is a grant program administered by the Triangle Community Foundation. This scholarship grant is intended to honor as well as reward to people having a great commitment in giving assistance others in the field of addiction in drug and alcohol. This scholarship grant is made available to physician’s assistant, graduate student or medical student in the Triangle area or those working and residing in Orange, Durham, Chatham and Wake counties. The scholarship fund is intended to identify the recipient for the work or activity he/she have done and to give financial assistance as well. The amount of the scholarship grant is $1,500 and this program is open on a yearly basis. The cash grant can be used in school expenses such as tuition fees, miscellaneous fees and books and materials.
