Grants for Developmentally Disabled

Individuals who are developmentally disabled have the right to live like normal people. No disability should hinder hinder them from growing. For that very reason, many foundations and even the federal government, offers grants for developmentally disabled as they strive to live a better life.

Developmental Disabilities Basic Support and Advocacy Grants

The Developmental Disabilities Basic Support and Advocacy Grants are programs administered by the US Department of Health and Human Services under the Administration for Children and Families. The program will support people with developmental disabilities in becoming independent, integrated, productive, and become a part of their communities. The funds in these programs is to give assistance to each State as they develop a plan for a complete and coordinated services system and other activities that will enhance the lives of developmental disabilities individuals and their families. These programs are formula grants. Interested organizations may go to the Regional Agency Offices of the Department of Health and Human Services for the complete details of the programs. Henry W. Bull Foundation

The Henry W. Bull Foundation is a foundation that offers support to non-profit organization that will use the grants for developmentally disabled all over the country. The funding usually awarded to organizations ranges from $2,000 up to $10,000. Aside from people with disabilities, the foundation also gives grants to organizations working for the performing arts, health care and education. Dorothea Haus Ross Foundation

The Dorothea Haus Ross Foundation is giving assistance and support to the vulnerable youth and children that are sick, orphaned, injured, abused, disfigured, malnourished, underserved in terms of the quality access to education and developmentally disabled. The foundation supports grassroots projects. The foundation awards grants in form of cash from $1,000 up to $15,000.
