Grants for Breast Cancer Research

Until now, numerous researches are conducted in order to determine the overall characteristics of breast cancer and how to treat it. These researches are paying off as many women are now surviving this dreaded cancer. In order to keep up this trend and to completely eliminate the breast cancer all over the world, many institutions, organizations and foundations and even the government are offering grants for breast cancer research in which professionals in this field can apply.

Avon Foundation for Women – Avon Foundation Research Program

The Avon Foundation believes that there are preventive methods for breast cancer and it can be known through in depth researches about the cancer. As the cases for breast cancer increases all over the world, the foundation supports researches about the preventive measures for the cancer by identifying the root cause of it. The foundation is offering cash grants for those who will conduct research for this objective. There are two stages for the application for this grant. The first one is to submit Letter of Intent and if the juries approved your LOI, they will invite you to submit a full proposal. The LOI deadlines are on 21st of January, 2011 for the first cycle and 6th of May, 2011 for the next cycle.

The submission of proposals is on the 11th of March and 5th of July this year, for the two cycles respectively. The LOI form is available online at and will be submitted online. Exceptional Project Grants

The Exceptional Project is a support for breast cancer researches by the Breast Cancer Alliance or BCA. This grant is open to all clinical doctors as well as researchers in the following areas: Albany, Boston, Connecticut, Greenwich, Hartford, New York City and Philadelphia. A LOI is also needed to be submitted by the applicants that due on the 1st of April, 2011. The researchers will be invited and informed to submit full proposal on the 6th May, 2011 in which the application proper will also start.
