There are several organizations offering scholarship grants for disabled students. Through these grants, students with disabilities can pursue the career they like and become competitive in the real world.

American Speech Language Hearing Foundation

American Speech Language Foundation or the ASHF is offering many scholarship as well as competition grants to graduating students. There are also scholarship and grants for new researchers focusing in the field of communication sciences and its disorders. As much as ten Graduate Student Scholarships are given away to deserving students that will take up master’s degree or doctoral degree in audiology as well as speech language pathology. One student in the Graduate Student Scholarship program will be given to disabled student. The scholarship grants will award from $2,000 up to $4,000. AmeriGlide Achiever scholarship

The AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship grant offers scholarship to disabled student. Application will start by answering the question of the grantor through an essay response that is 500 words or more in length. Students must be enrolled in any accredited college in the US, either two or four year course. At least a year in college is needed as a requirement. Physical disability must be due to mobility and is using wheelchair. Have GPA of 3.0 or higher. The essay must be submitted on or before June 6, 2011. The winner of the scholarship grant will be awarded with $1,000 cash and should be used for school expenses. Association of Blind Citizens Scholarship Program

The Association of Blind Citizens is offering college scholarships worth $5,000 and these grants will be awarded to legally blind students who are pursuing a college degree. Another scholarship grant is the Reggie Johnson Memorial Scholarship that will award $2,000 and three $1,000 scholarships to the students wanting to attend college. The scholarship grants may be used for school expenses such as tuition fees, living expenses as well as expenses resulting from the blindness.
