Grants for Curators and Keepers of the Cultural Heritage and Treasures

Curators are also known as the keepers of any institutions involved in cultural heritage. These institutions include galleries, museums, libraries or even the archives. The person with curator as his/her profession is a specialist that is responsible for an institution’s art collections.

Curatorial Research Grant

The Curatorial Research grant programs are a project spearheaded by the Etant donnés: The French-American Fund for Contemporary Art. This grant is aimed to give assistance to the professional development and enhancement of the American curators. This assistance can be used for the expenses of their two to eight weeks stay in France for the following purposes: research about the contemporary art. Moreover, the grant assistance is intended to emphasize and additional modern artistic interactions between the US and France. Discovery, facilitating and reinforcing of new talents are also part of the mission. Every year, the research grants are offered to curators with the deadline set at April. Recipients can receive cash grants worth $2,500, which is stipend per month. Another $2,500 for the travel expenses (this is the max). After the stated period of time for research, recipients must submit report stating the fulfilment of the program’s objectives and goals. Association of Art Museum Curators Annual Fund and Professional Development Travel Grants & Support for Junior Curators

The AAMC or the Association of Art Museum Curators has several programs for their curators. Some of them are the AAMC Annual Fund and the Professional Development Travel Grants & Support for Junior Curators. The Annual Fund is providing funds for further development of the curatorial profession through research grants, training programs and opportunities. The other program of the AAMC is intended for traveling to the annual meeting as well as professional development programs that will benefit curators.
