The William J. and Dorothy K. O’Neill Foundation directs and manage several grant making programs. Grants in response to requests from the communities we serve are made through the Capacity Building Grants program. At the O’Neill Foundation the application process for a capacity building grant is an ongoing collaboration between the Foundation and the grant seeker. Our goal is to support the applicant during all phases of the process by maintaining open and responsive communications. We encourage questions and comments at any point in the process. Geographical areas of interest include Cleveland, Columbus and Licking County, Ohio; Baltimore/Annapolis, MD; Big Island, HI; Bonita Springs/Naples, FL; Houston, TX; New York City, NY; Richmond, VA; Washington, DC.

Who are eligible for the William J. and Dorothy K. O’Neill Foundation – Multiple States Grants?

The first step in our grants application process is to determine if an organization is eligible to apply for a grant. Eligibility determination is a one-time only step for organizations that are new to the O’Neill Foundation. Requests for eligibility are reviewed and determinations made monthly. This determination is made by O’Neill family members in line with the Foundation’s mission and their funding interests. Organizations will be notified of the outcome of their request by the Foundation. Once eligible, organizations may submit requests for capacity building grants to the Foundation, beginning with a Letter of Inquiry.
