What is Center for Community Support?

The Center for Community Support (CCS) assists community-based nonprofit organizations operating in Texas. The Center provides “hands-on” help with identifying prospective grant funding sources, data support, and proposal writing assistance. Far from a handout, communities must understand the problems they face, know what they need to accomplish, and must be willing to spend long hours working to achieve their goals.

Who are eligible for the Center for Community Support?

The Center for Community Support (CCS) assists nonprofit and public community-based organizations with 501(c)(3) or 509 status operating in Texas based on the following considerations:

  • Local needs align with the stated objectives of the funding source.
  • Strong community support exists for the project.
  • Organizations lack proposal writing experience with insufficient local resources to prepare competitive grants independently.
  • Organization has the ability to manage and implement the project if awarded.
  • Sufficient local capability to manage grant and ability to carry

In order to apply for the Center for Community Support, eligible organizations must complete the registration form after complying with the eligibility criteria.

The Center for Community Support provides a broad range of grant development services, at no cost, for Texas community-based nonprofit organizations. For more than 20 years, support has been provided to pursue competitive funding for programs designed to improve the quality of life and promote safe and healthy lifestyles among the people of Texas.
