Grants for Drug Addicts

Drug addicts always have another chance to redeem themselves and live a normal life again. Rehabilitation is one way to start again. There are several organizations, government agencies, institutions and private entities working for the rehabilitation and medication of drug addicts so that they become a good citizen again. Grants for drug addicts are used to assist the work of rehabilitating them.

Veterans Rehabilitation – Alcohol and Drug Dependence

The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the VA Health Administration Center is the administering the Veterans Rehabilitation – Alcohol and Drug Dependence grant program. This program is intended to give social, medical, and vocational as well as rehabilitation therapies to the veterans that are dependent on alcohol and drug. For the Substance Abuse Treatment, the program can be found in any VA clinics and medical centers. This program is offering different treatment modalities such as substance abuse rehabilitation and detoxification. Education is also part of the program. Eligible applicants are those veterans who need treatment for the substance and drug abuse provided that they meet the following requirements: the veteran has served the military, naval or air service and then they are discharged or even released due to conditions not related to dishonourable acts and meet the general eligibility requirements as prescribed in program number 64.009. The application to this grant must be made personally to any of the following: VA medical center, outpatient clinic, or regional office. They can also apply to any veterans’ service organization representative. They can also mail the VA Form 10-10, which can be attained at the local office, to closest medical center. Block Grants for Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse

The Block Grants for Prevention and Treatment of Substance Abuse is a program by the US Department of Health and Human Services under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration or the SAMHSA. This program is intended to give financial assistance to the States and even the Territories that will give assistance and support to projects aim in the development as well as the implementation of drug and alcohol abuse prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
