Grants for Blind children

The federal government cares for the blind and other disabled individuals through the launching of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or simply IDEA. This program assures that the government will assist disabled people, especially the children in their education. In particular, the program aims to help blind kids. The assistance that this program primarily focuses is on special education. Federal government provides grants for blind children that are used for education. In addition to that, there are private entities that support this cause by providing support for the education of these disabled children.

IDEA Grants

The IDEA program gives preschool grants to every state as well as the District of Columbia and even Puerto Rico. The funding that the education agency of the state will receive is dependent on the quantity of disabled children with the age of 3 – 5. It also considers those kids who are living below the poverty line. The Office of Special Education under the U.S. Department of Education has the guidelines and application process in their website at www.ed.gov.
