Boarding schools can give exceptional educational prospects for students that will allow them to prepare academically for higher learning institutions. Unfortunately, not all can afford to take education in boarding schools because the average amount of expenses is around $60,000 a year. Good thing, there are available grants for boarding schools that are based on academic excellence as well as financial needs. Financial assistance comes from the boarding schools itself so that they can accommodate deserving students who are in need.
Phillips Exeter Academy Scholarships
The Phillips Exeter Academy is known as one of the pioneering boarding schools in the US. The school is known for its academic excellence. More than 450 courses are available in this school; however, the high standard of academic excellence in this school is also high in fees. As of last year, the tuition and school fees are more or less $41,000. The school realized that there are deserving students, but cannot afford the price. In order to assist those students, they launched the scholarship grants for boarding schools way back in 2007. This grant is open for students with their family earning only below $75,000 annually. The cash grant can be used for tuition fees as well as boarding expenses. Interested students and their family can apply to the cash grants by calling the school at (608) 772 4311 and look for the financial aid officer. You can visit the school located at 20 Main St., Exeter, NH 03833. Their website is www.exeter.edu.
St. Paul’s School Scholarships
The St. Paul’s School located in New Hampshire is offering classes co-ed classes for high school students. Just like the previous school, the high standard educations they offer are expensive. The school year 2010 to 2011 has an average school expense for a student is up to $48,000 and not all can keep up with this cost. The school is offering assistance to students in need financially. Eligible students are those with family earning under $80,000 per year. The cash grant is used for the tuition as well as cost living fully. For students with family earning more than $80,000, they can still apply for the grants and they can have assistance, but not in full. Interested students must have a word with the admissions office or by calling (603) 229-4600. You can visit the website at www.sps.edu or go there physically at 325 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.
