There are so many grants for dance in which dancers, dance groups and choreographers can apply to support their dance activities. The federal government and private institutions are offering this kind of assistance.

Shubert Foundation General Operating Support Grants

The Shubert Foundation is offering grants to non – profit and professional dances and theatres all over the United States. The dances that will be applied are evaluated independently and the suitable allowance for the sizes and resources are considered. The foundation will asses applicants base on the applicant’s operation and their contribution to the field of dancing. The Shubert Foundation will award open grants that can be used for general operation of the dances instead of funding for particular programs or projects. The deadline for submission of application for the dance is set on the 15th of October yearly. National Endowment for the Arts Grants for Arts Projects

The Grants for Arts Projects by the NEA or the National Endowment for the Arts is a grant by the federal government with CFDA no. 45.024. Any organization working for the arts can apply for this program. They can apply to the programs under the Grants for Arts Projects.

  • Art Works – this program focuses on giving support and assistance for the creation of arts that will meet the utmost standards of quality and excellence as well as the engagement of the public with it. The program also supports the diversity and excellence of the art and its lasting learning in the arts, and the reinforcement of the communities with the use of arts. Therefore, interested organizations wanting to apply must have the innovative programs or projects that go with this goal. Applicants can receive cash grant amounting to $10,000 and can go as high as $100,000. The deadlines got Art Works program for the year 2011 is set on the 10th of March 10 and 11th of August 11.
  • Challenge America Fast-Track – this is a program made to give assistance and support to programs and projects that are aimed to make the arts closer to the underserved people. This grant will award cash assistance worth $10,000. Deadline of submission of application is on May 26, 2011.

Interested organizations wanting to apply must register first in the Grants.gov. All documents and forms must be submitted online at this website as well.
